All-New 2018 BMW 5-Series GT Spy Shots Revealed

The German based BMW carmaker is preparing the all-new 5-Series GT for an official debut at the end of 2017 or beginning of 2018, the model being recently caught on shots while undergoing some tests in camouflage.

The BMW 5-Series GT was not than popular in Europe, but in China, the model was well-received in its previous generations, a reason for the carmaker to plan a more appealing model.

The 2018 BMW 5-Series GT will sit under the same CLAR platform, also seen on the newly unveiled 7-Series, meaning that it will be lighter with around 100 kg and also a little bit longer than the current generation.

This means that the cabin will come with wider space for all passengers and a larger trunk. At the exterior, as we can depict from the spy shots, the model will come with a sloped roofline, a different rear end a rather new tailgate.

No news on the powertrains it will fit under the hood, but we should except the same engine lineup carried over the current model.

The 2018 BMW 5-Series is reported to be officially unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, followed by the Touring at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and the GT at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
